Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has once again overtaken big brands like Samsung and Apple. This information has been revealed in the latest report by market analyst company Canalys. According to the report, Xiaomi has kept its position at the top with 30.6 percent market share in the Indian smartphone market.

The company shipped a total of 10.3 million units in the first quarter of 2020. As per earlier reports, the top five smartphone manufacturers in terms of shipments in India in the last quarter were Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung, Realme, and Oppo.

At the same time, if we talk about the 2020 quarter, then Vivo has made it to number two. In fact, the company posted an annual growth of 48.9 percent over the previous year, which is said to be quite good.

At the same time, Vivo was 19.9 percent in market share. In addition, in the first quarter of 2020, the company has made 6.7 million units available in the market in India. At the same time, apart from Vivo, Samsung has made its place at number three. Samsung shipped 6.3 million smartphones in India in Q1 2020. Canalys said, 7.3 million smartphones were shipped by the company in the same quarter last year.

Just after Samsung, Realme and Oppo took fourth and fifth place respectively. According to the report, Realme's year-over-year shipments grew by nearly 200 percent (3.9 million smartphones), while Oppo's year-over-year shipments grew by 22.4 percent (3.5 million smartphones).

Significantly, the Indian smartphone market has seen a growth of 12 percent in the first quarter of 2020. The Canalys report claimed a total of 33.5 million units sold in the quarter. At the same time, since the end of March, there has been a lockdown due to the corona virus.
